In a good news for homebuyers, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) will be taking out a lottery for 3,000 homes on Diwali after the completion of a housing project at Pahadi Goregaon in the western suburbs.

This announcement was made by the state Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad after he reviewed the project status with the MHADA officials.

While talking to reports after the inspection, Awhad, mentioned that soon after the completion of this project, the flats will be open for distribution to the citizens. In this, 3000 houses will be allotted in Diwali.

According to reports, seven 23-storey buildings will be constructed in Pahari Goregaon. It will have 1239 houses for a very small group. The area of the house will be 322.60 square feet.

Moreover, he also stated that the premiums charged during the MHADA redevelopment will be reduced in a bid to give a push for redevelopment projects in Mumbai and the rest of Maharashtra.

Increase in annual income limit

It has come to light that MHADA's housing project has increased the income limit for the houses. MHADA draws lottery for very low, low, middle and high income groups. Specific income limits have also been prescribed for this income group. As per this income limit, candidates can fulfill their dream of owning a house by filling the lottery application.

It is very important to fill the application form according to the income limit. Till now, the income limit was INR 25,000 per month for very small group, INR 25,000 to INR 50,000 per month for small group, INR 50,000 to INR 75,000 per month for medium group and INR 75,000 per month for high income group. However, now the income limit has been increased.

According to the new changes, now the annual income limit of each group is as follows

Very low income group - INR 6,00,000 per annum

Low Income Group - INR 6,00,001 to INR 9,00,00 annually

Middle Income Group – INR 9,00,001 to INR 12,00,000 per annum

High Income Group – INR 12,00,001 to INR 18,00,000 per annum
