Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has directed MHADA and the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) to come up with a definite plan to pave the way for the slum rehabilitation project in Mumbai.
Discussions were held regarding the same at a meeting which was chaired by CM who reviewed the work of slum rehabilitation schemes in Mumbai. Present at the official residence were Jitendra Awhad, Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde, Transport Minister Anil Parab, MLA Sunil Prabhu, Mumbai Building Repair and Reconstruction Board Chairman Vinod Ghosalkar, Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Ashish Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to Urban Development Bhushan Gagrani, Principal Secretary to Housing Milind Mhaiskar, Mumbai District Collector Rajiv Nivatkar, Mumbai Suburban District Collector Nidhi Chaudhary, Chief Executive Officer of Slum Rehabilitation Authority Satish Lokhande among others.

Sharing instructions with the officials, the CM said that if the developer has shown inability to complete the slum rehabilitation scheme or if the developer is delaying the work of the project, then necessary measures and various options will have to be adopted to complete the project on time. Furthermore, rules regarding permanent transit camps should be consistent, he added, by also directing the officials to provide relief to the people by implementing regulations regarding permanent transit camps.
Officials also discussed measures to be taken to provide relief to the homeless in the slum rehabilitation project. Instructions have been given to implement necessary rules for completion of the project.
