As per reports, a meeting was held at the Vidhan Bhavan regarding the demarcation work of the remaining 29 Koliwadas in Mumbai.

On Thursday, January 7, Assembly Speaker Nana Patole stated, “If the demarcation work of Koliwada remains incomplete, the work should be completed immediately by taking the local Koli brothers into confidence,”

Moreover, a meeting was held at the Vidhan Bhavan regarding the demarcation work of the remaining 29 Koliwadas in Mumbai. In addition, a joint meeting of revenue, urban development and fisheries departments will be held to expedite the demarcation work of the remaining 29 Koliwadas in Mumbai.

Earlier, a meeting was held in the presence of Environment Minister and Guardian Minister of Mumbai Suburban District Aaditya Thackeray regarding Koliwada demarcation. In this meeting, the Shiv Sena directed all the concerned departments like Coastal Zone Authority, Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Environment Department to work in coordination in view of the situation. Moreover, a review was conducted in Mumbai city, suburbs, Thane and Palghar.

However, according to the CMFRI report, various areas related to fisheries are yet to be included in the demarcation. The demarcation done by the revenue department has been published and the suggestions and objections received in this regard are to be reported to the revenue department.

On the other hand, Maharashtra tourism, environment and protocol minister Aaditya Thackeray applauded the role of Mumbai’s civic body and police in making it possible to make Worli Koliwada free of containment zones.
