In what may seem to be a perennial battle in the court for around 2 decades, MHADA will now be able to construct 3000 new homes on its Goregaon East plot. The applications for the same will be invited within a month as informed by a senior official of MHADA of the Mumbai group.
The story of this clash started from the point where a lady by the name of Kusum Shinde claimed that the 25 acres plot, the area of which starts from a hill near Goregaon East till Inorbit Mall of Malad was done in her name 50 years ago. After which she had sold this plot to the Gundecha Builder. But she somehow ended up fighting a case for it for the past 25 years. The lady ended up battling the case for the plot in the lower court as well as the Supreme Court, but eventually, the ruling happened in the favour of MHADA. As a matter of fact, the court did slap a penalty of 1 crore against the builder as well.
