Working towards augmenting connectivity in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Maharashtra cabinet minister, Aaditya Thackeray believes that connectivity between Mumbai and Mira Bhayandar is of utmost significance.

In light of this, he took to Twitter to announce that BMC will be constructing the proposed 6 km long 45-meter-wide road. This will be done for the present Dahisar Link Road to Bhayandar. From this, 1.5 km will be in the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), the remaining 4.5 km will be in the Mira Bhayandar Corporation, he said.

Thackeray remarked, “This is a part of the proposed north bound coastal road, however since this missing link is extremely essential, the BMC will take this 6 km road on war footing.”

Additionally, Thackeray believes that this will not only enable better connectivity from Dahisar West to Bhayandar but also assist in reducing the travel time. Apart from this, he added that it will curtail traffic and pressure on Dahisar East and the Western Express Highway (WEH).

Nonetheless, it will be connected to the WEH for enhanced connectivity. This development comes in the backdrop of Thackeray visiting the Dahisar toll Naka, earlier last week amid complaints of heavy traffic congestion. Back then, he had assured relief to the motorists who were using the toll plaza.
