Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, on Monday, October 4, 2021, virtually inaugurated several highway projects in Nashik and said that the connectivity of Nashik will improve in the following years as many district headquarters in Maharashtra are connected to the National Highway. He laid foundation stone of about 206 Km long NH projects worth approximately INR 1,678 crore.
Present at the event were Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Kapil Moreshwar Patil and Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar among others.
Sharing the details, Minister Gadkari mentioned that approval has been received for the Greenfield Expressway project connecting Surat-Nashik-Ahmednagar-Solapur and Chennai. Union Ministry of Roads, Transport and Highways has given a nod to the project which will be developed under Project Phase-1 to India. Adding more, he said that the Nashik-Mumbai highway would be repaired and renovated at a cost of INR 5,000 crore, and the six lanes of 20 km route from Pimprisado to Gonde and elevated corridor from Nashik Road to Dwarka would be constructed as well.
Besides this, Minister Kapil Moreshwar Patil and Bharati Pravin Pawar also appreciated the efforts taken by Minister Gadkari to holistically develop the projects and improve the transportation between remote tribal areas and the city.

Meanwhile, he also said that the Mumbai-Nashik highway project is expected to be completed in 2.5 years. Reports state that it takes around 3 hours and 35 minutes to cover the Mumbai-Nashik stretch; however, after the project completion, the journey between Mumbai and Nashik will be reduced to merely 2 hours.
