Due to ongoing work of Costal Road Project Package-2 on Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan Marg, the traffic is moving slow at the Sea Link gate. To ease the vehicular traffic movement and avoid inconvenience caused to people it is necessary to close, temporarily, the North bound for vehicles moving from Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan Marg towards Prabhadevi, Dadar.

In that sense, in order to prevent the obstruction and inconvenience to the public and to make smooth and speedy movement of traffic there, as well as for the reason of safety and to give such instructions.

The changes in traffic arrangement that will remain in force till May 31, 2024, for 24 hours, was announced by Dr. Raju Bhujbal, Deputy Commissioner Of Police (H.Q. & Central), Traffic, Mumbai's statement in exercise of the powers conferred under section 115 of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988:

Road closed for traffic:-

North bound of Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan Marg, from Bindu Madhav Junction to J. K. Kapur Juction, Prabhadevi will be kept closed, temporarily, for vehicular movement. The vehicles moving from Bindhu Madhav Junction on North Bound would be allowed towards Worli-Bandra Sea Link only.

Alternate Route:-

1. Mela Junction/Khna Abdul Gafar Khan Flyover- Worli Naka-Podar Junction-Desired Destination

2. Bindu Madhav Junction - Right turn Flora Junction - Sir Pochkhanwala Marg-J.K. Kapoor Junction - Desired Destination

3. Bindu Madhav Junction - Right turn Flora Junction - Podar Junction - Desired Destination

It is pertinent to note that the coastal road work is 80 per cent complete. Earlier, the officials had stated to open one lane of the road is likely to be opened for traffic this November. However, this decision was withdrawn as other works would be affected if the route is opened. So now phase 1 of coastal road is likely to be started by May 2024.

The first phase is 10 kilometers from Marine Drive to Worli. This project will reduce traffic congestion. So, the distance from Marine Drive to Worli can be covered in just 8 minutes.
