As a part of the Bandra Government Colony redevelopment project, the state Public Works Department has resumed work on the 14 towers that are being constructed.

The work on this project had started earlier this year and was touted to be completed by the year 2021. However, due to the pandemic, the work was stalled. As per reports, the authorities are now expecting the work to be completed by mid-2022.

Moreover, this project has been undertaken in collaboration with the South Korean government. It is to be a joint venture between the Maharashtra government the Export and Import Bank of South Korea and Korea Land and Housing Corporation.

However, several residents have complained of being unhappy with the project as it is to take up the ample space available at the moment, cramping the towers.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra PWD Minister Ashok Chavan had earlier tested positive for the coronavirus. Post his recovery and consequent discharge, he received a warm welcome from his family members and had to stay at home for a little while for further quarantine as per the treatment protocol.

According to sources, Chavan was said to have contracted the coronavirus infection from his driver. Chavan is the Congress MLA from Bhokar constituency in Nanded district.
