MahaRERA registration of 88 housing projects in the state which could never be completed due to various reasons and are unnecessary will now be cancelled. MahaRERA has published the list of these projects on its website and has also appealed to people who have any objections regarding these projects to register them within 15 days.

MahaRERA registration is mandatory for new housing projects. It is also mandatory for the developers to complete the project within the prescribed time frame. Developers who do not complete the project on time or whose registration expires are deregistered. There is such a provision in the RERA Act. MahaRERA through a circular on February 10, 2023 decided to cancel the registration of the project as unfeasible and never completed. The implementation of that decision has now started and accordingly MahaRERA has decided to cancel the registration of 88 projects in the state. These include projects that could not be completed due to zero registration, non-availability of funds, projects being financially unviable, court cases, family disputes, new government notifications regarding planning and so on.

The list of all these projects has been published by MahaRERA on its website. If there is any objection regarding cancellation of registration of these projects, MahaRERA has given instructions to register them. Objections can be registered on this mail: secy@maharera.mahaonline.gov.in. The final decision on cancelling the project will be announced only after considering the objections.
