Mumbai- Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has come up with its new initiative ‘Go Green’ to encourage use of solar power.
The 5.6 km Bandra-Worli sea link will soon get new solar powered street lights.

Till now the LED street lights were working no conventional energy and the electricity costs were running into lakhs. In order to save money and electricity, MSRDC has now decided to replace them with solar street lights. While talking to Mumbai Live, MSRDC’s Joint Managing Director, Kiran Kurundkar spoke about releasing the tenders for the ‘Go Green’ project.
According to MSRDC, the work of replacing the streetlights will be completed by April, due to which around 60 % of electricity will be saved.
Moreover, Kurundkar has made it clear that the work of fixing the solar streetlights will be done by the toll contractor.
