The deadline for application and approval process for allotment of 4654 (including 14 plots) houses of Konkan Board of MHADA has been extended. Due to the low number of applications submitted for the draw so far, it was time for the Konkan Board to extend the deadline. Accordingly, the application can now be submitted till April 19, while the application can be submitted with the deposit amount till April 21. However, no change has been made in the draw date. The draw will be announced on May 10 as scheduled.
First Come First Preference
Acceptance of applications for allotment of 2,606 (including 14 plots) houses in Konkan Board began from March 8. Acceptance of applications for 2048 houses under First Come First Preference scheme began from March 17. The deadline for filling the application was on April 10 and the deadline for submitting the application along with the deposit was on March 12. However, now the application deadline has been extended to April 19 and the application deadline has been set as April 21. An extension has been given for both these processes.
Due to very low response to the draw, the Konkan Board has extended the deadline for acceptance of applications. Earlier in October 2011, the draw of 8984 houses received a huge response. As many as two lakh 46 thousand applications for houses were submitted at that time. But at that time the applicants did not have to submit other documents including residence certificates while filling the application. So there was a good response. But now as per the new lottery procedure, the documents have to be submitted in advance, which is becoming a big problem for the aspirants. That is why the draw to be held on May 10 received less response.
Less response
From March 8 to April 3 (till 7.30 pm) 12,360 applications were submitted with deposit amount. So far 22,380 people have filled the applications. Since the response is low and many are taking time to get the documents, the application-acceptance deadline has been extended. An official announcement regarding this will be made by the Konkan Board soon.
