The eighth edition of Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival which is going to be held from May 24-28 will see 147 films from 45 countries from around the world.

The film festival will screen movies which depict the lives of gay, lesbians, bisexual, transgender and (LGBTQ) communities. “Diverse, One” is the theme of the fest, the movies will be screened at Liberty Cinema and Alliance de Francaise.

Sharing more about film festival the director of the festival Sridhar Rangayan said, "This year's programming is unique and diverse, encompassing LGBTQ diversity from across the world as well as racial and ethnic diversity in the films that are being screened,"

The programming of the film fest is not only for the LGBT communities but also for the non-LGBT audience who is interested in watching a good cinematic show on the big screen. People from the media industry, film professionals, media students etc. can come and enjoy this visual treat.

"Several new countries debut this year, including films from Armenia, Nigeria, Kosovo, Rwanda, UAE, Trinidad, Tobago and Aruba. Being South Asia's biggest LGBT Film Festival, we have made a concerted effort to program films from Asia, South Asia and Asia-Pacific," added Rangayan.
