Akshay Kumar's Marathi Film 'Chumbak' selected for IFFM 2018

Marathi film Chumbak has been sponsored by superstar Akshay Kumar. Akshay had watched this film at the Mumbai Film Festival (MAMI) last year and decided to support and present the movie at the theatres. 

Recently the Khiladi of Bollywood launched the trailer of Chumbak. The actor took to his Twitter and wrote, “A film that moved me so much that for the first time ever I decided to lend my name to a film. So here it is, Akshay Kumar proudly presents, the #ChumbakTrailer! आशा आहे कि तुम्हा सर्वाना आवडेल.”


 

Chumbak narrates the story of a 15-year-old boy who comes across a 45-year-old mentally challenged man and is forced to merge his dreams with his morality. The movie features ace musician Swanand Kirkire and is directed by Sandeep Modi. 

Chumbak is now officially selected for the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) that will begin in the month of August under the theme of Inclusion. The film will be presented by Akshay Kumar. "I am really excited that our film Chumbak is selected in the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and I am really looking forward to the response of Australian people that how do they receive the film. I am very happy that a superstar like Akshay Kumar has agreed. I mean he has liked the film so much that he presenting the film now for us in India”, said Swanand Kirkire in a statement.

Chumbak is all set to hit the theatres in India on July 27.
