Marathi cine industry has always been incisive of unexplored subjects, one such topic is Dashakriya which means rituals performed on the tenth day after death. Film Dashakriya is all set to release on November 17; the film is based on the novel ‘Dashakriya’ by Baba Bhand.

Talking exclusively with Mumbai Live, legendary actor Dilip Prabhavalkar asserted, “I had never worked on such a subject before which is of a different era, so yes this was something new for me too.”

Dilip Prabhavalkar who has portrayed many characters on-screen says that the character of Patresavkar plays an essential role when one has been surrounded by enough of false beliefs. “The character Patresavkar is full of positive thoughts and is against the injustice and superstitious activities happening in the village,” said the veteran actor.

The film is produced by Kalpana Vilas Kothari, directed by Sandip Patil and written by the popular ‘Jogwa’ film writer Sanjay Krushnaji Patil. The film also features many skilled actors such as Manoj Joshi, Asha Shelar, Milind Shinde, Uma Sardeshmukh, Santosh Mayekar, Milind Pathak, Aditi Deshpande, child artist-Arya Adhav and Vinayak Ghadigaonkar.
