The music album of Shiv Sena’s supremo Bal Thackeray’s biopic ‘Thackeray’ featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the titular role was launched today. Many Shiv sainiks marked their presence to celebrate the occasion.
At the music launch Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena leader and producer of the film, announced that ‘Thackeray’ has received the censor certificate. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had earlier objected to a few scenes and few dialogues. However, the film has got a clearance from the censor board, "We have received clearance for Hindi version. Tomorrow or day after tomorrow, we are sending the Marathi version of the film to censor board,” Raut mentioned.
Uddhav Thackeray and Aditya Thackeray, along with the cast Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Amrita Rao, composers Rohan and Rohan and singers Nakash Aziz and Avdhoot Gupte launched the songs of Thackeray.
Talking about the album Nawazuddin said, “The music of the film is fantastic. I didn’t hear any of them while shooting properly but the final outcome is amazing. Though, I didn’t expect about the foot tapping anthem. I have worked really hard for the role but I don’t want to open all my cards before the film release.”
Directed by Abhijit Panse, Thackeray is slated to release on January 25.
