Veteran actor Ravi Patwardhan passes away in Mumbai

As per reports, Patwardhan was 84 and suffered a cardiac arrest in Mumbai. He gained popularity for his diverse roles in Marathi and Hindi film industry.

Noted actor Ravi Patwardhan who has worked in several Hindi and Marathi films passed away in Mumbai on Sunday, December 6, 2020. He was 84 and suffered a cardiac arrest. 

It is said that he has suffered a heart attack in March 2020, and as per reports, he complained about breathing difficulty on Saturday, December 5, 2020, and was rushed to Jupiter hospital in Thane where his health deteriorated.

In an interview with PTI, his son, Niranjan Patwardhan, said "He passed away due to a heart attack last night around 9-9.30 pm. He had some breathing issues and had a seizure at home so we immediately rushed him to a hospital. He stopped responding and within half-an-hour, we lost him," 

Having worked in over 200 films and 150 plays, Ravi Patwardhan had gained popularity with his diverse roles through the career. Some of his popular work in the Marathi industry include Umbartha, Maphicha Sakshidar, Saglikade Bombabomb, London Cha Jawai, Maherchi Vaat, Agabai Sasubai and many others. Over the years, he has played several characters like a policeman, judge, lawyer, etc.

His work in Bollywood includes films like Tezaab, Chamatkar, Thakshak, Mujrim, Salaakhen, Yugpurush, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman and others.

Ravi Patwardhan's last rites were held in Thane, and the actor is survived by his wife, two children and four grandchildren.
