A week after Ed Sheeran's Mumbai gig, the city witnessed some more musical magic with Norwegian DJ Kygo taking stage at MMRDA Grounds on Sunday, November 26.
The 26-year-old 'Stole The Show' right from the start, darling darling! He played hits like Stay, Here for you, It ain't me, Stargazing, First Time (his recent song with British singer Ellie Goulding) but to everyone's surprise, he went all desi and Mumbaikars went bonkers to Mundiyan Tu Bach Ke Rahi! Yes, he did that and I witnessed a wave of positive, enigmatic energy across MMRDA.
His set went on for about an hour and half as the DJ kept everyone on their toes all evening. Another surprising song which people witnessed was 'Mi Gente', and the party was on! We know music connects people but when artists pour their hearts out for the fans, the fans reciprocate the love and that's what happened tonight.
Towards the end of the gig, Kygo randomly said his goodbyes and he hadn't played 'Firestone' after which a loud chant of "We want Firestone" rippled across the venue. And then, he was back on stage talking about his special single which has 450+ million hits on YouTube, after which we knew it was time for the encore, it was time for Mumbai to get Firestoned!
He was warm, energetic and positive throughout his set which made the gig a hit.
We would surely love to see Kygo in Mumbai once again in the future as this night will definitely 'Stay' in our memories.
