Mumbai musicians pay tribute to M S Subbulakshmi

King's Circle - The first musician to be awarded India’s highest civilian honor, the Bharat Ratna, ‘M.S. Subbulakshmi' was a cultural ambassador who took Carnatic music to the world. On September 17 2016, an orchestra ceremony was held at King's Circle, where 100 musicians paid tribute to Subbulakshmi on the occasion of her 100th birth anniversary. ‘Raag’ music composed by Padmashri A. Kanyakumari was presented in the ceremony. Violin, Tabla, Flute, Veena (a necked bowl lute),Thavil, Nageswaram, Keyboard were some of the instruments played during the ceremony.
