YouTube music, the online music streaming platform, hosted a musical night celebrating the same with the prominent names in the Indian music fraternity. Renowned international artist Alan Walker was also present at the occasion.

YouTube Music hits three million downloads in less than a week after its launch. The online music streaming platform hosted a musical night celebrating the same with the prominent names in the Indian music fraternity. 

Celebrated international artist Alan Walker took everyone by surprise with his performance at the occasion. Indian artists including Taufiq Qureshi, Akriti Kakkar, Alka Yagnik, Anirudh Ravichander, Badshah, Guru Randhawa and Harshdeep Kaur also performed for the audience.

Another prominent personality from the industry present at the celebration was Javed Akhtar amongst other renowned artists.

He mentioned that 500 million internet users are expected to increase in India by 2020, consuming online video content for both entertainment as well as learning.

YouTube had launched their paid service called YouTube Premium and its music streaming app last month in India to compete against other similar platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, Music, JioSaavn and Gaana. YouTube Premium, which costs ₹129 for a month, includes membership to YouTube Music Premium, offering ad-free services, background play and an offline download feature.
