The income tax (I-T) department officials on Tuesday, November 2, said that they had provisionally attached various properties worth around INR 1,000 crores across Maharashtra, Delhi, and Goa linked to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

According to the officials, the attached properties also include a cooperative sugar factory. The IT department took this action after discovering an unaccounted income of about INR 184 crore last month during the massive search operation.

The other attached properties include:

1. A flat valued at INR 20 crores in South Delhi.

2. Parth Pawar's office at Nirmal House in Nariman Point, worth around INR 25 crores.

3. A resort in Goa worth INR 250 crores.

The department has attached 27 pieces of land across Maharashtra. Their combined value is around INR 500 crore and is said to be owned by his family. Pawar now has 90 days to prove that he did not purchase these properties with Benami money. Until the probe is over, he can not sell any of these properties.

In October, the department had unearthed unaccounted income worth INR 184 crores after their searches at two real estate groups in the city which were said to be linked to Ajit Pawar. The officials had also found a firm where Ajit Pawar's son, Parth Pawar, is a director and a few firms owned by Pawar's sisters.
