Furthermore, in 2019, he briefly held the position of leader of the House for a year. Despite his aspirations to contest the Assembly elections from the Kasba constituency, he did not secure the party's candidature at that time.
Shankar Jagtap's Rise to Leadership
Shankar Jagtap, the younger brother of the late BJP MLA Laxman Jagtap, has been entrusted with the responsibility of leading the Pimpri Chinchwad unit. Having actively supported his brother in various elections, Shankar played a pivotal role in securing the victory of his sister-in-law, Ashwini Jagtap, in the by-poll for the Chinchwad Assembly seat earlier this year. This by-poll followed the unfortunate demise of Laxman Jagtap, and Shankar's contribution to the victory showcased his political acumen and dedication to the party's cause.
