After Congress candidate Urmila Matondkar demanded police protection and filed a complaint against BJP workers for allegedly creating nuisance in her rally, the BJP also filed a complaint with Election Commission clarifying that people who raised slogans - “Modi-Modi” - were commoners.

A BJP representative board on Monday filed a complaint against Matondkar at Election Commission office in Borivali. The BJP has accused Congress workers of beating commoners who were shouting slogans in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP delegation has claimed that some of the commoners were college students.

We have a complaint to the Election Commission demanding that the CCTV footage of the scuffle site should be examined. Congress workers have beaten up the commoners including women who were raising slogans. Some of the commoners were college students. We have demanded the police and EC to investigate this further,” informed BJP Corporator Ganesh Khankar.
