Ahead of 2019 assembly elections in Maharashtra, Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President, Amit Shah visited Mumbai on Sunday to address the party workers here at NESCO ground.

Amid the ongoing seat-sharing tension between Shiv Sena and BJP in Maharashtra, Amit Shah highlighted that Devendra Fadnavis will become the Chief Minister again after BJP comes to power with a majority in the state.

The remarks made by Shah indicate that BJP is not ready to negotiate with Sena regarding the seat-sharing for the upcoming assembly polls.

Moreover, Shah also ended the possibility from BJP’s side that Yuva Sena chief Aditya Thackeray might be in the race for Chief Ministerial post.

Earlier, BJP had offered 135 assembly seats each and intended to offer the remaining 18 seats to smaller allies. However, Shiv Sena maintained that they want seat distribution issue to be resolved on the basis of 50-50 formula while demanding 144 assembly seats.
