After Narendra Modi government abrogated Article 370 (special status to Jammu and Kashmir), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made this an election issue ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls.

During his visit to Maharashtra, Union Minister Amit Shah announced that the removal of Article 370 and 35A will be a major issue in the assembly elections in the state. Moreover, Shah said that the people of Maharashtra will teach the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress a lesson for their stand over the same. 

After this, the BJP’s city units have decided to conduct nearly 300 street plays under the election campaign to create awareness about the abrogation of article 370. In Mumbai, the party will organise such street plays across 36 assembly seats. 

BJP has entrusted all its office bearers and corporators with the responsiblity of organising this political campaign across Mumbai. The street play will aware people about the historical and political events surrounding Jammu & Kashmir’s article 370 and 35A.

The assembly elections in Maharashtra are due in mid-October and the BJP intends to gain power while highlighting its decision making on issues incluing the abrogation of Article 370, triple talaq and more.
