Mumbai – How many Mayors are there in Mumbai? This question may look absurd to anyone but the action of corporators from almost all political parties seem to have become the Mayor as they have printed their letterheads in the colour specifically designated for the post of Mayor. Though it is a technical mistake, the glaring neglect of the secretariat towards this is perplexing.
There are certain rules for proceedings of the BMC. Some rules are fixed regarding the use of letterheads and insignia. The letterheads of Mayor and deputy mayor are to be printed in natural colours while insignia is to be printed on top left corner. The chairpersons of different committees and statutory heads have to print their letterheads using green colour.
However, corporators from almost all political parties have printed their letterheads in natural colours instead of blue. They have blatantly violated the set norms but secretariat has not paid attention to this glaring mistake.
When contacted to Shiv Sena corporator Rajul Patel, she accepted her mistake and also clarified that she has corrected it. She alleged that secretariat department has not provided any guidance to the newly elected corporators and hence this mistake resulted.
