'Has Kanika Kapoor put the President of India and Parliament at risk?' Twitterati question

Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor was recently tested positive for Coronavirus and she revealed the same on her Instagram account stating that she will be under isolation for the new few days. It is said that Kanika did not inform the authorities about her travel to London, and instead took a flight to Lucknow, where she hosted a party with more than 100 guests, some of them being personalities and high-profile politicians. She also stayed at a five-star hotel for a couple of days.

Upon knowing the news, many who attended the party or were aware of the same shared the news on Twitter. Among them was Vasundhara Raje who took to Twitter to share the message, "While in Lucknow, I attended a dinner with my son Dushyant & his in-laws. Kanika, who has unfortunately tested positive for #Covid19 was also a guest. As a matter of abundant caution, my son & I have immediately self-quarantined and we’re taking all necessary precautions."

But after she announced the news, Twitterati shared their angst calling her act 'criminal negligence.' Reports state that the party Kanika attended also included BJP MP Dushyant Singh who later attended the Parliament and met the President of India. However, no official confirmation has been received about the same.

The video of the party which she attended was leaked on social media. Here's the footage:

Keeping this alarming situation in mind, many have appealed the government to quarantine the entire Parliament and the staff at President House.

Author Tuhin Shah, also wrote, "I appeal to Shri @myogiadityanath ji to arrest #KanikaKapoor upon her recovery and initiate stringent legal action u/s 3 of Epidemic Act, 1897. Unless a strong example is set, this bio-terrorism will destroy our fight against #coronavirus."

While Shiv Aroor said, "So a celebrity party in Lucknow with #Coronovirus positive singer #KanikaKapoor is finally the compelling reason for Parliament to even consider shutting down. One MP who attended the party ATTENDED PARLIAMENT after the party. Should be shut without any further delay."

Renowned journalist Barkha Dutt mentioned, "Yesterday I questioned wisdom of parliament continuing while everything else was shutting down. And trolls pounced. Sad to have been proven right. #KanikaKapoor positive for #Corona met MP Dushyant Singh who sits next to  @derekobrienmp and so on. This is how spread takes place."
