Former deputy chief minister and senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal who is undergoing jail term in the Arthur Road jail has sent a defamation notice to social worker Anjali Damaniya on Thursday.
The legal notice has sought an apology from Damaniya for levelling allegations against Bhujbal that defamed him. If she fails to do so, the defamation suit of Rs 50 crore will be filed against her, the notice adds.
Damaniya, while addressing a press conference a few days back, had alleged that Bhujbal is being provided with a VIP treatment in Arthur Road Jail. She had claimed that Bhujbal is being provided with a special TV set, chicken masala, fruits after every two hours, mobile phones, etc.
On Wednesday, Bhujbal had refuted the charges of Damaniya and had warned her of a legal action. Accordingly, Bhujbal sent the legal notice to Damaniya through Adv Mangesh
