After former Mumbai Congress President Milind Deora tweeted a pro-Arvind Kejriwal video praising the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi, it didn’t go down well with Deora’s colleagues.

Congress leader Ajay Maken suggested Milind Deora join the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP before “propagating half baked facts”. Maken stated that during the Congress rule the Revenue grew at 14.78 per cent while during AAP the annual growth rate is 9.90 per cent.

“Brother, you want to leave Congress – Please do – Then propagate half baked facts! However, let me share even less known facts. 1990-98 BE (Revenue) 4,073 cr and 2013-14 BE (Revenue) 37,459 cr. During Congress government (the revenue) grew at 14.87% CAGR. 2015-16 BE (revenue) 41,129 and 2019-20 BE (revenue) 60,000. AAP government CAGR at 9.90%,” Congress leader Ajay Maken tweeted in reply to Deora’s tweet.

Arvind Kejriwal took oath as Delhi Chief Minister for the third time on Sunday. Amid the ‘freebies’ jibe against AAP government, a video was also circulated where Kejriwal can be seen talking about the achievements of his government in Delhi. Deora tweeted a part of the video praising AAP.

In his tweet, Deora said that the Arvind Kejriwal government's revenue has been doubled and it has managed to maintain a revenue surplus.

This erupted Twitter with a lot of questions, many asking Milind Deora to join AAP. His remarks come after Congress witnessed a major defeat in 2020 Delhi assembly elections and won zero seats while AAP managed to gain victory on 62 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) got 8 seats.

Earlier, Milind Deora had lashed out at Congress Delhi-in charge PC Chacko who blamed late Sheila Dikshit for party’s embarrassing performance in the assembly polls. Deora expressed his disappointment stating it was unfortunate that Dikshit was being blamed after her death.
