In the meantime, when asked about if Gambhir will be provided with a Lok Sabha ticket or not, Arun Jaitley said that the decision lies within the party's Election Committee. However, he stated that his inclusion would benefit them in a positive manner.

Taking a jibe at Navjot Singh Sidhu, he also added that while various cricketers have sided with Pakistan, Gambhir is not one of them. Alongside, he also criticised Sam Pitroda for demanding the proof of surgical strike by the Indian government.
