In a case of money laundering case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has raided the residences and offices of Shiv Sena leader and MLA Pratap Sarnaik on Tuesday, November 24.

The ED officials also visited the homes of his son Vihang Sarnaik. The ED has conducted a search in 10 places in Mumbai and Thane areas with links to the Shiv Sena Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Pratap Sarnaik.

Sarnaik happens to be the MLA from the Ovala-Majiwada Vidhan Sabha constituency in Thane. He is also Shiv Sena's Maharashtra Spokesperson and the Communication Leader for Mira-Bhayandar area. Sarnaik was in the news earlier after he demanded that Kangana Ranaut be booked for sedition for comparing Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Moreover, he had stated that the actor "maligned" the image of Maharashtra and Mumbai through her tweets. As a result, this has given birth to speculations over the ED raiding Sarnaik's house.

Actor Kangana Ranaut had earlier drawn a lot of flak for comparing Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in a bid to counter Shiv Sena’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut who had slammed her for stating that she was scared of the Mumbai Police. Moreover, leaders across parties had strongly condemned the statement stating that the actor had a one-sided agenda that only suited her selfish needs.

On the other hand, as per reports, the Bombay High Court will pronounce its judgment in Kangana Ranaut’s case against the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation over her property demolition on November 27. The actor had sought damages of ₹2 crores over the BMC razing a portion of her Mumbai office.
