Eknath Khadse, who served as a senior member in the BJP government between 2014 and 2019, is expected to return  to the party. Information regarding this was said by current BJP leader Girish Mahajan and a report regarding this was published in the Hindustan Times which quoted Mahajan who said that Shinde has met Union Minister Amit Shah and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis with regards to the matters.

However, it is not sure if he will join BJP in the future. Mahajan also mentioned that he'll be meeting NCP Chief Sharad Pawar with regards to joining one of the parties as well.

Back in 2019, Eknath Khadse was forced to resign from the party after allegations were posed against him with regards to a land deal in Pune in 2016. As mentioned in the terms of the government, he could not return to the state cabinet and was also denied a party ticket for the elections back then.

Though he had a strong representation, the former BJP leader was not allowed in the party. Reports state that has played a significant role in politics from the concerned region represented by him and has also received support from a sizeable population in the Northern part of Maharashtra. After leaving BJP in 2019, Shinde joined the NCP in 2020.

As of now his daughter-in-law, Raksha, continues to be in the party as the BJP MP from the Jalgaon region. The publication quoted Mahajan, who said, “Khadse went to meet the union home minister in Delhi. He waited for three hours but to no avail. Devendra ji and I were sitting together at a program in Nashik when Khadse saheb came to me and urged to end this once and for all.”

Responding to the matters and sharing his thought, Khadse added, "I am going to meet Amit Shah, it is true but I will be going with Sharad Pawar. I had asked Devendra ji too for a meeting. He promised to give me an appointment in a week but then he went to Russia and we could not meet. I will meet him as well."
