Former Mumbai police officer and encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma on Thursday filed his nomination as a Shiv Sena candidate from Nalasopara.

Sena has fielded Pradeep Sharma from Nalasopara constituency for the assembly elections in Maharashtra which are scheduled on October 21. Sharma will be contesting the polls against Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA) candidate Kshitij Thakur who also filed his nomination the same day.

While speaking to Mumbai Live after filing nomination, Sharma said that Nalasopara doesn’t have good infrastructure including roads, schools, colleges and hospitals. “There is lack of basic services here and I have come here to serve the people,” said Pradeep Sharma.

The encounter specialist further said that he will focus on eliminating corruption and will carry out a political encounter of the opponents.

I will initiate a door-to-door campaign and will discuss my idea of development. There has been no development here for the last 20 years and people are agitated. I will urge them to give me five years to serve them,” Sharma asserted.
