Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar assured that the dream of every Mumbaikar, who wants a memorial of Babasaheb Ambedkar will be fulfilled. He said that the work on Dr B R Ambedkar’s memorial will be completed on time and adequate funds have been allocated for the same.

Moreover, he stated that the height of the statue will be 350 feet standing on a 100 feet high pedestal.

Pawar said the government of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is committed to the overall development of Maharashtra and will not allow any injustice to be done to any department of the state in the distribution of development funds. The state government would ensure that the Development Board for Marathwada and Vidarbha as well and will receive the same quantum of funds as in the past.

He made these statements while replying to the discussion on the Governor's address in the Legislative Assembly.

Pawar said that the MVA government faced the unprecedented crisis of 'Corona' in the state with utmost patience and restraint.

In this battle, all the COVID-19 warriors in the state, including doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, police, cleaners, Asha workers, Anganwadis, remained at the forefront, risking their lives to save lives.

He expressed his gratitude to the people of the state, including the people's representatives and NGOs, for their support to the government and for keeping coronavirus under control in the state.

Pawar said that during the 'Corona' crisis, the funds of important departments like public health, medical education, police, food and civil supplies were not slashed and added that no shortage of funds for health-related works including jumbo covid centres and treatment centres across the state, he added.

While the state is facing financial difficulties due to the pandemic, the Center has arrears of INR 32,000 crore in GST rebates, which the state expects to be paid immediately.
