Mumbai - Dynastic politics could be a bad word in civic jargon, but blood is definitely thicker when it comes to winning the BMC elections. A total of 11 offspring have made their parents proud by winning seats in the BMC elections - the parents of these have either been corporators in the past or are incumbents who will relinquish power to the new order.
While it is the kids who are doing the parents proud, there are some daughters in law who have brought glory to the family as well. The daughters in law of Vinod Ghosalkar and Narvekar have won from their wards, while former corporator Sudhir More's sister in law Snehal and incumbent corporator Ganesh Sanap's sister in law Sujata too have won from their wards. Vinod Ghosalkar's son Abhishek and Rameshsingh Thakur's son Sagarsingh too have shone in their respective wards.
This is how the family tally stands in the respective BMC wards -
Prakash Karkar - Harshal - Shiv Sena (6)
Chandrakant Wadkar - Suhas - Shiv Sena (40)
Vidya Thakur - Deepak - BJP - (50)
Tembvalkar - Swapnil - Shiv Sena (51)
