Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently engaged in a crucial meeting with RSS leaders at the Dr. Hedgewar Smruti Mandir in Reshimbaug, Nagpur. The gathering, which took place on Saturday, focused on fortifying the organizational collaboration between the RSS and BJP as the Maharashtra Assembly elections draw near.

Although neither the BJP nor the RSS provided official comments on the meeting, sources revealed that the discussions centered on enhancing synergy between the two groups. A BJP representative disclosed that the meeting included a comprehensive discussion aimed at improving coordination among the BJP and various right-wing organizations under the RSS's guidance.

The BJP is seeking to leverage the support of the RSS and its affiliated organizations to overcome the setbacks experienced during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where the party secured only nine out of 28 seats. When combined with seats won through alliances with Shiv Sena, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and NCP, led by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, the total came to 17 out of 48 seats. In contrast, the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) won 30 seats.

With Assembly elections anticipated in October, the BJP is meticulously planning to enhance its electoral prospects. The party is also addressing internal dynamics within the Mahayuti alliance, as Shinde and Ajit Pawar strive to consolidate their respective factions and bolster their electoral influence. In addition to these efforts, the state government has introduced several populist initiatives, such as the Ladli Bahin Yojana, free electricity for farmers, and youth stipends. However, strategists believe that robust grassroots support is essential for these schemes to effectively reach the electorate.

State BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced an outreach program scheduled from August 9 to 16. During this period, party leaders and workers will actively promote the government's welfare schemes to the public. Additionally, the BJP is focusing on countering the growing support for the MVA within the Muslim community, recognizing it as a key issue in their campaign strategy.
