Speculation has intensified about the former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis getting a place in the cabinet at the Centre. Moreover, as the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh would be held in 2022, speculations are being made about changes in the cabinet at the Center. Therefore, now there are reports concerning Devendra Fadnavis, who also considered a close aid to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, of getting a place in the Union Cabinet.

The 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections were seen as a political battle between the experienced Sharad Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis. Fadnavis has been attacking the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition government comprising -- Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP -- in the state soon after the Sena called of a with BJP over the post of Chief Minister in Maharashtra. 

Along with this, Devendra Fadnavis also planned a strategy for the BJP in the assembly elections held in many states. In many states, BJP managed to get success.

Devendra Fadnavis met Sharad Pawar

Devendra Fadnavis met Sharad Pawar at his Silver Oak residence in Mumbai a few weeks ago. Fadnavis called it a "courtesy call" with the NCP chief after his recovery from surgery. This meeting came at a time when Maharashtra is witnessing high voltage politics over the Maratha reservation issue.
