Senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan on Wednesday accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Devendra Fadnavis of sharing “doctored videos” on Twitter.

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan said that Fadnavis shared the “doctored videos” of protest by Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students “out of desperation”.

Chavan, on Twitter, pointed out on the false information shared by Devendra Fadnavis while sharing a fact-check report by AltNews. The report stated that the AMU students didn’t raise “anti-Hindu” slogans during their protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.

The video was shared on Twitter by several BJP leaders including Fadnavis in the last two days.

It is sad to see that former CM Devendra Fadnavis is spreading doctored videos out of desperation. He or his office must check the veracity of videos. As a former HM and responsible LoP he must restrain from spreading hateful & possibly fake information,” Chavan tweeted.
