Ten percent reservation will be given to the Maratha community in Maharashtra. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is going to present a bill in this regard in the Legislative Session. Following the recommendations of the Backward Classes Commission, the state government has decided to provide 10 percent reservation to the Maratha community in jobs and education. Similarly, MLAs Abu Azmi and Raees Shaikh have demanded reservation for the Muslim community.

A protest was held on the steps of the Legislature regarding reservation for the Muslim community. MLAs Abu Azmi and Raees Sheikh showed placards demanding reservation for Muslims. He has demanded 5 percent reservation in jobs and education.


Muslim community should also be given reservation

While talking to the press, Abu Azmi said that a one-day conference has been called today regarding the reservation of the Maratha community. We welcome the Maratha Reservation Bill. Reservation should also be given to Muslim community. There should be no injustice to the Muslim community. He demanded that reservation should be given to poor people of Muslim community.
