On the occasion of Diwali, the Thackeray brothers will be seen celebrating together at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.

Deepotsav, an annual event organised by the MNS at Shivaji Park, will once again be held before Diwali this year. However, the 2025 edition is expected to be particularly special, as Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray will inaugurate the MNS Deepotsav ceremony.

Uddhav Thackeray’s inclusion in the MNS Deepotsav event has raised eyebrows across political circles, fueling speculation of a possible Shiv Sena–MNS alliance ahead of the upcoming BMC elections.

The growing closeness between the Thackeray brothers, Uddhav and Raj has surprised many. Their bond has strengthened over the past two months, especially following their joint support for making Marathi the third language in schools. Their recent interactions, including Uddhav’s visit to Raj Thackeray’s Shivtirth residence and Raj’s visit to Matoshree, have made headlines.

They have reportedly met seven to eight times in recent weeks, including at least two closed-door meetings. Now, their joint appearance at Deepotsav adds further weight to the possibility of renewed political collaboration.

As Raj and Uddhav come together again, many are wondering: Will there be a political explosion from Shivaji Park this Diwali?
