Malad - Friday was the last date for filing the nomination forms for the municipal elections.
A long rush of candidates was seen near the municipal office located in Liberty garden, Malad for the filing of the nomination papers. Various party leaders including those of the Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party, Congress, Bharatiya Janta Party, MIM and many independent candidates were spotted at the venue. Due to the rush, there was huge traffic congestion from Malad station to Marve road, witnesses said.
