Lok Sabha Elections: Shiv Sena to contest 20, Congress 18, NCP 10 seats?
SHARES

The seat distribution of the constituent parties in the Maha Vikas Aghadi in the Lok Sabha elections is almost certain. It is understood that out of 48 seats, Shiv Sena will get 20 seats, Congress will get 18 seats and NCP (Sharad Pawar group) will get 10 seats. It is said that a meeting of the main leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi will be held tomorrow, in which the final decision will be taken on seat allocation.

A dispute has arisen between Shiv Sena and Congress over the Sangli Lok Sabha constituency. Bhiwandi constituency has been claimed by NCP, but Congress is not ready to give up its right on this constituency.

As the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi has been continuously imposing different conditions, the seat sharing formula has been decided among the three parties in MVA namely Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP. Along with seat allocation in Maharashtra, state president Nana Patole, Legislature Party Leader Balasaheb Thorat, Leader of Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar and other leaders have been camping in Delhi since Tuesday to decide the candidates.

There is uncertainty regarding the inclusion of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi. It is known that Shiv Sena and Congress have prepared to give four seats from the quota if the disadvantaged are included. If Raju Shetty and Mahadev Jankar come to MVA, there is a possibility that two seats will be left for them from NCP's quota.

Urged by Congress

The election process for the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections has started from Wednesday. Five constituencies in Maharashtra namely Nagpur, Ramtek, Bhandara-Gondia, Gadchiroli-Chimur and Chandrapur are included in the first phase. Congress has claimed all these five constituencies. Therefore, it is necessary for the Congress to take the final decision on the seat distribution immediately to determine the candidate.
