Vijay Wadettiwar talks about lockdown restrictions; decision on Mumbai local trains

Minister Vadettiwar said that the current COVID-19 situation in the state is being reviewed by the government, and there are questions regarding the restrictions shall be made in a week's time.

Coronavirus cases in the state have been increasing steadily since Diwali, and experts are also predicting a second wave of COVID-19 infection. Keeping this in mind, people in the state have been wondering if the government will impose another lockdown in Maharashtra. Sharing his thought on the same,  Relief and Rehabilitation in the Mahavikas Aghadi government, Vijay Vadettiwar, confirmed that the discussions are being held at the ministry, and officials are considering restrictions to ensure safety in the state.

Addressing the media in this regard, Minister Vadettiwar added that due to the increasing cases, no decision has been taken to start the Mumbai local trains yet for the general public, and the department has been directed to decide at the same at the civic body or municipal level. Similar decisions have been made to reopen schools, whereby municipal corporations will analyse the coronavirus and make announcements. 

The current COVID-19 situation in the state is being reviewed by the government, and there are questions regarding the restrictions shall be made in a week's time. The process is underway and the motive is to save lives the deadly virus. He added that the decisions will be taken for the betterment of the people, however strict restrictions will have to be imposed on timely trains and air travel, whereby passengers may have quarantine as per protocol. Decisions will be taken in this regard too

Mumbai is a cosmopolitan city and over the last few months people have come here from many states to pursue work, and so the rules have to be followed very strictly so that the coronavirus does not spread among the public. He appreciated the efforts taken by the state and said that despite the crowd in Mumbai, the state government has done a good job in curbing cases, and the central government also appreciated the work done in the densely populated areas. He added that the work and measures taken by the health system in the state are commendable and should be the result of the hard work of the Corona Warriors.

He also appealed to the people to follow the guidelines issued by the state and listen to the warnings mentioned by the experts. He said that the experts predict another wave, and we can prevent the danger by wearing a mask and maintaining distance at all time. Following the rules will help us ensure that the spread doesn't happen again. However, if coronavirus spreads rapidly in the second wave, the government will have no choice but to impose strict restrictions on the public once again.
