The Congress on Sunday released a list of coordinators for 539 Lok Sabha constituencies who will assess the political situation in their respective areas and give feedback to the leadership for seat-sharing talks in the India block. This announcement has come when the main opposition party has intensified preparations for the Lok Sabha elections. In a post on X, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said, "Congress Party has just released the list of coordinators covering 539 parliamentary constituencies, 4 more to come soon.


In his remarks at a press conference on Saturday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had said that the party will decide how many seats it will contest, but it has finalised its observers in all the 500-plus constituencies. He said, “They will get access to every parliamentary constituency and eventually when the ‘India Alliance’ is in place; The exact numbers will emerge when we hold talks in each state.

Kharge said, "We are trying to put our efforts everywhere, because today we are thinking that we are getting 'A' seat. Let's say our alliance partners do not agree with you. Take 'C' seat, hence, we are adding observers in each constituency"


A statement along with the list of coordinators in 539 constituencies said Congress President Kharge has approved the proposal for appointment of Parliament constituency-wise coordinators for the upcoming general elections with immediate effect. According to party sources, formal talks regarding seat sharing with the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab and Delhi will start from Monday. He informed that the process of negotiations has also started with some parties.
