Maharashtra government issues fresh IAS transfer orders

The Maharashtra government on Friday announced the transfer of three IAS officers. As per the order, Manisha Patankar Mhaiskar has been posted as Principal Secretary in the Environment Department at Mantralaya in Mumbai.  

Mhaiskar, an IAS officer of 1992 batch, is currently the principal secretary and chief protocol officer in the General Administration Department. Moreover, Ashutosh Salil - the Joint Commissioner of Greater Mumbai Municipal Corporation - has been posted as the Managing Director of Maharastra Tourism Development Corporation in Mumbai. 

Salil is an IAS officer of the 2010 batch. The order dated July 17, 2020, also mentions the transfer of Shrikrishnanth Panchal as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zila Parishad Yavatmal. 

Panchal, an IAS officer of 2016 batch, is currently the Assistant Collector and Project Officer at Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP) in Bhandara. 

Earlier in June, the Maharashtra government had transferred three municipal commissioners amid the increasing number of coronavirus cases. The order stated that new commissioners have been appointed in three cities Navi Mumbai, Ulhasnagar and Mira-Bhayandar. 

Meanwhile, on July 13, Rural Development Department of the Maharashtra government issued a government resolution allowing the appointment of Zila Parishad chief executive officers (CEO) as the administration to 14,000 gram panchayats. 

The order states that the Zila Parishad CEO can be appointed as administrators to the gram panchayats in consultation with their respective district guardian ministers.
