In Maharashtra, the MVA surmounted the BJP in the bypolls of the 85 seats in the six Zilla Parishads. The MVA won 46 seats which were twice more than the BJP’s number of 22, although the BJP was the single biggest party, stated reports.

The BJP had a setback in Nagpur that is home to Nitin Gadkari the union minister and Devendra Fadnavis the earlier chief minister, they lost a seat whilst the Congress attained the foremost number of seats.

Based on accounts, 144 Panchayat Samitis went into polls wherein BJP attained 33 seats whilst MVA attained 77 and the Congress came out as the single biggest party with 36 seats.

When results of the ZP and Panchayat Samitis were amalgamated, the BJP, as well as the Congress, have attained a similar number of seats of 55. In the ZP polls, on the other hand, Congress attained 19 seats which were three less than the BJP. NCP attained 14 seats when the Shiv Sena won 12.
