In the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, an agreement was reached to allocate 85 seats each to Shiv Sena (Thackeray), Congress, and NCP (Sharad Pawar). However, the remaining 33 seats are still under discussion. Shiv Sena's unilateral actions in the seat distribution have sparked discontent within the Congress. Meanwhile, in the Mahayuti alliance, the issue of seat allocation has not been fully resolved. BJP leaders are expected to make a decision regarding the distribution of 25-30 seats, with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar currently in New Delhi for discussions with Home Minister Amit Shah.
The MVA meeting, held in the presence of NCP President Sharad Pawar, finalized a formula where Congress, Shiv Sena, and NCP would each get 85 seats, totaling 255 seats. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut claimed there was consensus on 270 seats, but Congress was unhappy with the distribution, particularly since they had expected 105 seats. The remaining 18 seats, to be allocated to allies like the Samajwadi Party, Shekap, CPI(M), and CPI, will be decided in a meeting scheduled for Thursday.

In the Mahayuti alliance, BJP is facing internal conflicts over seat distribution. Both the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) have announced candidates for seats that BJP also claims. The Shinde group revealed a list of 45 candidates, while the Pawar group announced 38 candidates. BJP has raised concerns about certain candidates and is conducting surveys to assess their chances of winning. A resolution on seat allocation is expected after a meeting with Amit Shah. The BJP's second list of candidates, delayed due to the ongoing discussions, may be released on Wednesday night or Thursday.
There are doubts within the MVA about whether Congress will secure the 105 seats it had expected. At present, Congress is allocated only 85 seats, and alliance leaders are uncertain if Congress will receive more from the remaining seats.
Adding to the tensions, Shiv Sena (Thackeray) announced a list of 65 candidates during the MVA meeting, which led to a dispute between Congress leader Nana Patole and Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut. The list included the Ramtek seat, allocated to Vishal Barbate, but Raut later clarified that the list was not final and that some seats may still be shared with allies such as PWP, Congress, and NCP.
