₹100 crores will be given to Scheduled Caste Entrepreneurs: Dhananjay Munde

Maharashtra Social Justice and Special Assistance Minister Dhananjay Munde said that efforts will be made to provide ₹100 crores to entrepreneurs belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category in the coming year. The new entrepreneurs from SC category will be given margin funds of ₹12.98 crores in eight days. 

Dhananjay Munde was speaking at a review meeting of the social justice department to discuss the schemes for small entrepreneurs. The government officials including Shyam Tagade, Principal Secretary (Department of Social Justice), Praveen Darade, Commissioner (Social Welfare) and Dinesh Dingle, Joint Secretary (Department of Social Justice) were present at the meeting along with representatives from various small scale industries and Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI).

Munde informed that a joint committee of department secretaries, social welfare commissioners, representatives from DICCI and bankers has been set up to prepare a marketing plan to provide financial assistance to the scheduled caste entrepreneurs. 

The committee will be responsible for preparing an action plan and present the report at the next meeting. The Maharashtra minister further said that the raw material will be produced where it is available and will be marketed in big metros and also in the international market.

15 per cent of the margin money will be distributed for starting small scale industries worth ₹15-20 lakhs. It will create a chain of services and products through entrepreneurs and efforts will be made to uplift the economic and social status of SCs by implementing economic development schemes in collaboration with DICCI. 

Munde also said that a special financial package will soon be given to new entrepreneurs under the Stand Up India scheme. In the meeting, small scale companies like NOGA, MAIDC, BVG, A Store, Leadcom, Le Dharavi were present.
