History of Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra

The party was formed in November 2019, following the Maharashtra assembly elections, in which the Shiv Sena broke its alliance with the BJP and formed a coalition government with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Congress Party. The alliance came to power with the promise of providing a stable and efficient government. However, the alliance has been beset by internal differences and disagreements. In 2020, the Shiv Sena and the NCP had a falling out over the allocation of portfolios, which threatened the stability of the government.

Meanwhile, the alliance was able to overcome these differences and remain in power. The upcoming local self-government and Lok Sabha elections will be a test for the Mahavikas Aghadi, as it seeks to maintain its hold on power in Maharashtra.
