Missed calls put ‘Modi’ in trouble

Mumbai - An advertisement appealing the Mumbaikars to vote in the BMC elections has given a mobile number for missed calls. People are giving missed call on the given number but this number of Modi; not prime minister Narendra Modi. This number belongs to television actress Avani Modi who has been facing a hell kind of experience thereafter. This public awareness advertisement has been placed all over the city and Avani Modi has been receiving the calls taking it as an opportunity to do something for the society and appealing the callers to cast their votes in the BMC election. Under the ‘Mi Matdaan Karnaar’ campaign, the BMC has published the banners and hoardings with Avani Modi’s mobile number and this mistake has caused the civic body lakhs of rupees. This expenditure should be recovered from the officer responsible for this mistake, demanded RTI activist Anil Galgali who has written to municipal commissioner Ajoy Mehta in this regard. Yet, the BMC authorities have not learned their lesson and have not printed any material expressing regret for this blunder or not even published any instruction in this connection.
