Another petition seeking cancellation of Maratha reservation filed in Bombay HC

Another petition against Maratha reservation has been filed in the Bombay High Court by All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MLA Imtiaz Jaleel, demanding the cancellation of the same. 

Filed by Advocate Jayshree Patil and Gunaratna Sadavarte, this petition is still pending with Bombay HC and seeks the cancellation of 16 per cent reservation granted to Maratha community by Maharashtra government. Advocate Sateesh Talekar who filed the petition on behalf of Jaleel in which the AIMIM leaders has alleged that the state government is not doing anything regarding Muslim reservation. 

Jaleel has also questioned the authenticity of Backward class commission which was appointed to study the socio-economic background of Maratha community. Jaleel demanded the report submitted by the backward class commission should be rejected.

This petition is the second in number to be filed against Maratha reservation and it will be heard on January 23.
